I remember standing on a windowsill in a dorm room in 2011 and watching everyone in the room dance and sway to this song. I remember Hulk hands and drinking. I remember realizing that I missed out on so many opportunities to have these kinds of dance parties with my brother and his coterie by staying away. There were only a few hours between us; I could have traversed them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then I would have missed the Elmira dance parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m limited in my options and it disgusts me. There are so many pathways ahead of me and I can only choose one. Right? There is no opportunity that, once seized, allows for the simultaneous seizure of another. Each new opportunity requires putting down the one currently held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is a poetic way of saying that I\u2019m making another job switch at some point in the coming months. Currently working as a paraprofessional, I am ready to be a full-fledged teacher. I\u2019ve seen plenty of examples to know that I don\u2019t have to be the best teacher, I just need to be pretty good. And I\u2019m excited about the prospect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, I just need to figure out how to get a teacher\u2019s license and I\u2019ll be good to go. In the meantime, I\u2019m working on a new piece for the month of June while making semi-daily posts. We\u2019ll see if I can keep to some sort of regularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
