WRBP | Community Radio [an introduction]

March 13, 2021

If you’re new to Community Radio, check out the details below. If you’re already a fan, check out all of our old episodes.

Each week, I (Paul) choose a theme for a new episode of Community Radio. These themes usually relate in some way to the day that the episode airs. You can find theme announcements in this blog, filtered here.

Members of the Riley Brothers’ Parties community then choose one song related in some way to the theme and add it to a collaborative playlist on Spotify. We use the same playlist every week, so we recommend saving the playlist to your library.

  • Open the playlist
  • Click the three dots and select “Save to Your Library.”
  • This should cause the playlist to appear in your options when attempting to add a song to a playlist from its page.

I then record a podcast featuring these songs and post the episode two weeks later.

Expectations

  • Since we have a lot of community members contributing week to week, I encourage you to only add one song per episode. If you get carried away and add more, you won’t be penalized.
  • It’s always great to hear why a person chose a song. Certainly, some may be self-explanatory, but feel free to elaborate as a reply to that week’s post.
  • Heads up – I have, in the past, often read what people write during the show itself, typically by reading what people wrote verbatim. Going forward, I will not do that unless you let me know it’s alright to share it.
  • I almost always only identify the identity of the person who selected a song by their first name. I try not to give out last names.

Confused? Have concerns? Ask a question here, or send Paul an email!
