What was it like to play guitar loud and fast in a dingy club? I know what it was like to stand in the audience, one of many high school kids trying to explore themselves. The Harmony Grange was a scene in my life for a time, and I miss it.
But it was not where I belonged. It was just too far from my house to reach by myself at that tender pre-licensed age. At home, I had my own electric guitar to hammer on, emulating Tom Delonge. My neighbors should be awarded the Hearing Aid award for time served.
Let’s be honest: my scene was acoustic guitars and chiming melodies. The rest was just a fun costume to wear from time to time.
